The client's working day in Tbilisi time
| Client's 9:00–17:00 day | Winter, Tbilisi | Summer, Tbilisi |
|---|---|---|
| New York (US Eastern) | 18:00–02:00 | 17:00–01:00 |
| Chicago (US Central) | 19:00–03:00 | 18:00–02:00 |
| Los Angeles (US Pacific) | 21:00–05:00 | 20:00–04:00 |
| London | 13:00–21:00 | 12:00–20:00 |
| Berlin / Paris (CET) | 12:00–20:00 | 11:00–19:00 |
Georgia does not change its clocks: Tbilisi is on UTC+4 all year[1]. The US and Europe do: the US on the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November[2], EU countries on the last Sundays of March and October[3]. So in summer the client's day starts an hour earlier in Tbilisi time.

Which schedule to choose
- Europe fits best. A Berlin day is 12:00–20:00 in Tbilisi time (winter time; an hour earlier in summer), London is an hour later. Look for European hours: jobs on European hours.
- US East Coast means evenings. A New York day is 18:00–02:00 in Tbilisi time (winter time; an hour earlier in summer). Some companies need only a few hours of overlap, with the rest of the work done earlier; ask in the interview. Jobs on US hours.
- US West Coast (Los Angeles) runs into the night here, so take it only if you are ready for night work.
Living with a late schedule
- Go to bed and get up at the same time every day, weekends included.
- Get daylight and a walk in the morning; keep a quiet room for evening calls.
- Have a backup connection (mobile data) so the client never notices an outage.
- Agree the hours in writing before the offer and put them in the contract.
