Remote customer support jobs in Tbilisi, Georgia

Look after the customers of an online store or software company from the US or Europe: chats, emails, orders and account problems. You work from home in Georgia and are paid in US dollars.

What the job is

Job posts call it customer support, customer service or customer success. The core is the same: a customer writes or calls with a problem and you solve it, or route it to whoever can and come back with the answer.

Most contacts arrive in writing: website chat, email, social media messages. So written English matters most: short, polite, error-free and plain. Calls happen too, but less often.

Support is one of the easiest ways into a foreign company. After a year or two people move into customer success, operations, e-commerce or training new hires.

Duties

  • Answer customers in chat, email and social media.
  • Sort out orders: delivery status, returns, exchanges and refunds.
  • Help with accounts, payments or product settings.
  • Escalate hard cases to the team and make sure the customer gets an answer.
  • Log every conversation in the help desk and flag recurring problems.
  • Meet the response-time targets the company sets.

What you need

  • Strong written English, B2+ or higher.
  • At least 1 year in customer support, sales or e-commerce (our vacancy requires it).
  • Calm and courtesy when a customer is upset.
  • Readiness to work the client's hours, sometimes in shifts.

How to get this job

  1. Practise replies, not grammar. Write three answers in English: to a late delivery, a return and a complaint. Short, with an apology and a clear next step.
  2. Name the systems you know. Zendesk, Intercom or even a bank's in-house CRM are the keywords recruiters search for.
  3. Expect a written test. Companies often send a few real tickets and ask for written replies. We do the same after the application.
  4. Pick your hours. Supporting US customers means your evening: 18:00–02:00 in Tbilisi time. European customers: 12:00–20:00 (winter time; an hour earlier in summer). More in working US hours from Tbilisi, Georgia.

Questions

Do I need spoken English if support is written?

Yes, at least B2: interviews and team meetings are spoken. But writing is the core of the job, so it is tested hardest.

Are there support jobs without experience?

Some, but fewer and lower paid. Our vacancy asks for at least a year in support, sales or e-commerce.

What is the difference between customer support and customer success?

Support answers when something goes wrong. Customer success manages customers proactively: onboarding, making sure they use the product and helping renew contracts.

Will I work nights?

With US customers, mostly evenings in Tbilisi time; some companies also run night or weekend shifts. Ask about the schedule before the interview.
