What companies ask first
Why so affordable, and is the pay fair?
Pay here follows living costs in Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia and Kazakhstan, not US wages. Each profile shows the monthly figure the candidate asks for themselves, and our own vacancies pay $700–1,100 a month. You pay the person directly, we take nothing from their pay, and candidates never pay us. The trade-offs are real: fewer shared hours with a US day, English that is not native, and onboarding that is on your side.
How do I know they are any good?
You judge that yourself, and it costs nothing. Most candidates apply through our Telegram bot with a written and a voice English task. Each profile shows the years of experience, tools, kinds of past work and the pay they ask for. You interview anyone you like, free, and nobody starts without your yes. We are a young service, with no placements or client reviews to show yet; that is why nothing is due until someone starts.
How good is their English?
Not native, and we will not claim it. Most candidates apply through our Telegram bot with a written and a voice English task; each profile shows the English level (B1–C2); Silkstaff checks English on a live call before any client interview, and a profile says “checked by Silkstaff” only after that call. You can set a minimum level in the questions above, and you hear the person yourself at the interview.
Will they cover my time zone?
It depends on the person, and each profile shows the hours they can work. On a 14:00–23:00 local shift, Kyiv covers 07:00–16:00 New York winter time, Tbilisi and Yerevan 05:00–14:00, Almaty 04:00–13:00: your morning and early afternoon, not the whole US day. US Central and Pacific get less. For Europe, they can work your full day. We count the shared hours for your zone on every match.
What about contracts and taxes?
You contract with the person directly, usually as a contractor, through Deel, Wise or Payoneer. We are not the employer and we do not handle their pay. Deel's contractor plan is about $49 a month. Put an NDA and an IP assignment in the contract, and give access through your own password manager. This is general information, not legal or tax advice: ask your accountant about your side.
What if they leave?
If the person leaves or does not work out within 180 days of the start date, we find a replacement at no extra fee, until you accept a new person. Conditions: one replacement per placement, the fee was paid on time, and the role, hours and pay stay as agreed. The fee is not refunded. Optional support at $250 a month keeps a replacement available at any time while it is paid.
What if I don't like anyone?
You pay nothing. Seeing profiles, asking for intros and interviewing are free, with no deposit and no exclusivity. The one-time fee of $2,500–3,000 falls due only on the start day of someone you chose to hire.
