Is this really Stafka?

People copy recruiters' names to run fake job offers. Check any message against the list below. If the sender is not on it, it is not us.

Our only official channels

This list is complete. Anything not on it is not us.
ChannelExact addressWhat we use it for
Websitestafka.comRemote jobs, salary pages and city guides
Websitesilkstaff.comThe recruiting company and its open vacancies
Telegram bot@silkstaff_botApplications, the English task, the voice answer, interview invitations and offers
Emailhello@silkstaff.comQuestions, employers, reports of fakes

Check the spelling letter by letter. In Telegram, a display name and photo can be copied, but a username cannot: ours is exactly @silkstaff_bot. Any other account, WhatsApp number, Gmail address or look-alike website that uses our name is not us.

What we never do

Red flags of fake "foreign company" jobs

These signs are common to remote-job scams in general, whatever name they use.

Red flagWhat it looks like
You pay firstA fee for training, a starter kit, a visa, a deposit or access to tasks. A real employer pays you; you never pay them.
Easy moneyHigh pay for simple tasks such as liking videos, rating hotels or boosting orders. These task scams pay a little at first, then ask you to top up your balance.
No real interviewAn offer after a short chat, with no video call and no test of the skills the job needs.
Move to another chatA recruiter on WhatsApp or a personal Telegram account who pulls you away from the official site or bot.
Your card, your codesRequests for a card number, CVV, bank login, SMS code or a passport photo before any interview or contract.
Receive and pass onYou are asked to accept money or parcels and send them on. That is money laundering, and the risk is yours.
Install this appA remote-access app such as AnyDesk, or a new crypto wallet, needed for onboarding.
RushOnly today, last places, answer within the hour.
Look-alike namesA website or username one letter off, or a company whose own website never mentions the job.

Check a message in two minutes

  1. Look at the sender. Compare the exact username or email address with the table above.
  2. Look for the job where it should be. Our open roles are listed on our own sites: see remote jobs.
  3. Ask us. Forward the message or a screenshot to @silkstaff_bot or hello@silkstaff.com with the question "Is this you?".
  4. Until you are sure, do not pay, do not share codes and do not install anything.

How to report a fake

Send the username, phone number, link or email address, with screenshots, to hello@silkstaff.com or through @silkstaff_bot. In Telegram you can also open the account's profile and choose Report.

If you have already paid or shared card details, call your bank now to block the card and dispute the payment. Keep the chat history and the receipts, and report it to your country's police cybercrime unit.

Questions

Do candidates ever pay Stafka or Silkstaff?

No. Applying, the English task, interviews and the job itself are free for candidates. Employers pay our fee.

A recruiter wrote to me first on Telegram. Is that you?

Only if the message came through @silkstaff_bot. We do not send offers from personal accounts. Forward the message to hello@silkstaff.com or to the bot and ask.

The employer wants me to buy equipment or pay for training. Is that normal?

No. On the jobs we recruit for, the employer pays you, never the other way round. Stop and tell us.

How will I be paid if I get the job?

Directly by the employer, in US dollars, through Deel, Wise or Payoneer. We take nothing from your pay.

Do you recruit in Russia or Belarus?

No. A job offer in our name aimed at people there is not from us.
